Biography
André Zaccarin has been Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering since 2017. He was Director of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2008 to 2016, and Acting Director of the School of Actuarial Science for over three years. Specializing in image and video processing, as well as computer vision, he has supervised or co-supervised over 20 graduate students. He is co-inventor of four patents and co-author of some 50 scientific publications, including one that won the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology Best Paper Award in 1994. In the early 2000s, he was a researcher at Intel Corporation's laboratories in California.
